Licca Chan Gets a Job, at Baskin Robbins

Don't you hate it when you find a fun toy set at an awesome price at the local thrift store. Yeah, not.

For under $20 I bought the playset, doll, and uniform. It doesn't have all the original ice creams, but it has a bunch of extras from the accessory sets. Good deal.

Pullip - Uncanricky

I went to the Hard Off/Hobby Off today, and I know that no one is surprised that I bought something. I had been looking at this particular doll for a while, and finally decided to buy her. She is Pullip - Uncanricky by Junplanning, from 2007.

She has a lovely punk look to her and even a red jewel tear drop on her face. Bonus, she comes with her own stand and was a great price at about $69.00.

She was new in the box, which meant I had to peel lots of tape and untwist many plastic ties to get to her. I am unhappy that one of her boots is ripped in the back, but I can live with that.

As you can see, her boots have long, thin laces that need to be tied. And tied. And retied. They wont stay tied. How annoying. Ooops, her stocking slid down, how embarrassing.

Her joints are pretty tight, but that could be from being in the box all this time. I'll play with her a bit and hopefully she will loosen up. I am really pleased with her.

Girl's Day Sneak Preview

Look what I found at the "Antique" sale today.

It even has working lamps and plays music. Best part? It was 1/10th the price of similar ones I have seen at retail stores. Now I just have to dust, clean it up, and see if the lights are functional.

Hayden as the White Rabbit

Another doll I bought for myself for Christmas (I wouldn't have gotten any dollies if I didn't buy them for myself, sigh) is the Liv Doll, Hayden as the White Rabbit. I guess I have a thing for Hayden.

Out of the outer box, but still attached to the packaging. This outfit is so pretty!

Out of the package and ready to go.

Her watch even opens.

With the two other Haydens.

New Year's in Japan

For New Year's, we decorated a little.

Japanese homes, traditionally display a grass wreath on the door and standing bamboo and evergreens by the door to welcome in the New Year. Since my wreath and bamboo are so tiny, I made a little display on the buffet.

Mochi and Mikans (Mandarin Oranges) are a traditional New Year food.

For New Year's Eve, we spent the evening at the O Club party. Cute and festive decorations.

The band.

Dave being too cool.

The perfect balloon that Dave rescued from mean spirited "poppers" at the party.

Today we took part in the local tradition of Lucky Bag shopping. Stores get rid of their old stock by selling items in "mystery bags" at a low price.

Bag from the Seiyu toy department - pink for girls.

Bag from the snack store.

My haul.

Dave's haul.

Skitter even got a bag. ;)
