Raggedy Ann

A while back (years ago) I was missing my Raggedy Ann something fierce. I saw this New Raggedy on Sale at the mall and made her mine.

She is a 25" Applause Raggedy Ann from the late 90s.

To me, she has that perfect look of innocence and fun that Raggedy Ann is all about, and retains the classic look, even without the shoe-button eyes.

I grew up with Raggedy Ann: I read the books, sang the song, heck, my whole room was decorated with Raggedy Ann (comforter, sheets, throw pillows, bank, planters, lamp, and doll). Not to forget my Raggedy Ann nightgown and my Raggedy Ann party dress. So it was a wonderful moment to finally have a Raggedy Ann again to call my own.

Hopelessly Fabulous 50s Sienna Evans

The doll stands I ordered have arrived, so Hopelessly Fabulous 50s Sienna Evans is finally out of her box.

She is 16 inches tall, a little shorter than Evangeline. 1 1/2 inches does make a difference.

Manufactured by Madame Alexander, Sienna is part of the Alex Doll line.

She is all dressed up and ready to go out. She even has a little rhinestone brooch on her stole.

Rhinestones on her heels.

Fabulous hair.

What a pretty face!

Organizing the Re-Ment

I've started arranging my Re-Ment figures in cases so that they are not all over the place.

My sushi. The top case has a little too much room, but it clears off my dresser.

This set is not in a case yet, but I wanted to show it off.

Akihabara: Electric City

Yesterday we visited Akihabara - land of electronics and geek culture. This area of town is filled with bright flashy lights, second hand game/toy/card stores, and just wonderful.

I saw Pullip dolls, Blythe dolls, Momoko dolls, all sorts of dolls. I even browsed in an official Volks store (Ouch! Pricey!) and an official Azone store (not as pricey). The dolls were amazing, but I was good and didn't buy any... yet.

We had dinner at a Spanish/Italian Tapas bar on the 7th floor of the Chomp Chomp building. (No, really, that was its name.)

A view of the restaurant.

Dave in the decor.

A hot dog, just because.

Lights! Chaos! Akihabara!

Love Merci, one of the many adult toy stores.

Queen of the Mardi Gras: One More Time

Ok, just a few more photos of my Queen of the Mardi Gras, 'cause she is just sooooo photogenic.

More Pics of Queen of the Mardi Gras

Here are some more pics of Queen of the Mardi Gras Evangeline Ghastly in her new dress. I just love how it looks.

And she poses so well now that her arms are not under that heavy red fabric.

Outfitting Evangeline

My Evangelines have new clothes!

Please click on images to see them larger.

Just arrived: 1 white dress from Ebay, 1 Mortuary Madness Blouse, 1 Dark Illusions Skirt, and 1 Tiara from the local craft shop.

Queen of the Mardi Gras looks lovely in her new dress and tiara.

Still the queen!

Wow! This outfit is lovely!

Look at all the detail.

"Mortimer, are you out there?"

My Friend Becky

I love dolls with red hair. Unfortunately, I had very few as a child. When I was old enough to play with Barbie, she had decided to be blonde, and only blonde. White/blond was the color of choice for most baby dolls, and if a doll wasn't blonde, she was brunette. I had one strawberry blonde baby doll that I absolutely loved, probably since she had hair like mine. (Unfortunately, her neck broke and she eventually made her way to the trash.)

As a child, I was unaware that there were other dolls in the My Friend Mandy line. The other dolls were released later and by the time Becky was released, I really wasn't playing with Mandy anymore. When I started enjoying my dolls again, a few years ago, I decided that one day I would have all of the My Friend dolls. So when I saw this Becky (an amazing red head) on Ebay, I knew she needed to come live with me and her friend, Mandy.

Here she is with her best friend, Mandy.

Her face is perfect, though I do need to wash some dark smudges off of it. (I love the freckles.)

Yes, she can stand on her own.

I've Got a Brand New Pair of Roller Skates...

Now that Licca has a pair of roller skates, Skipper and Scott have invited her out skating with them.

Group photo!

After all these years, Scott and Skipper are still dating (and skating).

Licca: Let's do this again next week.
Licca: (to Skipper) Scott wa kakkoii desu!

The Case of the Too Large Skates

Well, last week I bought a roller skating outfit for Licca. The only problem is that the skates are too roomy on her feet and the outfit didn't come with socks. With all the extra room she toppled, rolled, and fell over. The only pair of socks I had were the ones for her school uniform which are knee highs, unfortunately they didn't work with the outfit. So while I was at Hard Off/Hobby Off I found a cute pair of anklets for her that came with a dress. On a buying frenzy, I also purchased a little closet for her too. The skates fit much better.

I need to de-pink this closet, but otherwise it is great. It even came with the hangers.

The closet holds all of her clothes and accessories (so far).

She stands in her new skates! Yay, anklets!

Disney Re-Ment Overload

So, I mentioned that I went a little hog-wild at the Hard Off/Hobby Off yesterday...
I broke down and bought a Re-Ment case to display my miniatures. Imagine my surprise (and cackles of glee) when the clerk informed me that it came with all the cute Minnie Mouse and Daisy items displayed in it.

Here it is with the items it came with and 3 "Mickey's Vintage Kitchen" sets that I had previously purchased.

Click on the image to see it larger.

Cute, but I think I will switch it out to display the sushi sets.
