Whitney Found an Outfit

Licca saved the day by lending Whitney this outfit. It is a little large, but a better fit than the other two outfits. 

But, as you can see, Whitney still needs shoes. Licca's shoes are too small.

Lottie meets Whitney

Today I am comparing Lottie to Whitney, Stacie's friend.

This is Autumn Leaves Lottie.

She comes with: a coat, hat, scarf, shirt, skirt, tights, and boots.

She can stand on her own, but I was not able to get her to stand up straight. (I'm sure this has been said about many 9 year olds.)

The dog applique is also off center.

The two dolls are about the same height.

But Whitney's body is thicker. Lottie's shoulders were not as easy to move as I thought they would be. I will have to practice moving them. (I don't want to accidentally break her.)

Whitney can wear the skirt and top, but they are very tight. She is not able to wear the tights or boots.

I still need to find Whitney an outfit that fits her (the Suzy Cute dress she came in is too large), but the two look like they will be good friends.

Tiny Babies in a Bassinet

When I was a small child visiting my great aunt, I was given this.

It is a bag made out of a Purex bottle and crochet.

When opened, it turns into a bassinet.

Inside the bassinet were two hard plastic babies (marked "Hong Kong") in crocheted outfits. One was a girl, in a dress.

The other was a boy in a bottom and short top. Unfortunately his clothes, both their legs, and the boy's arms are long gone.

They also had a tiny crochet blanket. 

I'm not sure if my great aunt made the set herself, or if she purchased it. Either way, it was well loved and a much appreciated gift.

Thrift Store Finds

I've had a couple of weeks of good luck at the local thrift shops.

Honey Lamb

I came home from convention last year with this adorable little girl, Honey Lamb.

By EG (Eegee/Goldberger), she comes with a cute little lamb companion.

Most likely manufactured in the 1970s, the back of her head and her body are only marked with, Made in Hong Kong, and Hong Kong.

Her body is hard, hollow vinyl, while her head is soft vinyl. She is about 8 inches tall without her hat.

Underneath her dress, she is wearing white undies and black vinyl boots.

The lamb is squeezable, but is not a squeeker.

Since it is a gorgeous day, Honey and her lamb allowed me to take some pictures of them outside, so you can see them in natural light.

My Melody

Last year Sanrio celebrated the 40th anniversary of My Melody. One of the products released was an outfit for Licca.

The set includes a dress, headband, My Melody plush head bag, and a pair of boots.

The theme of the outfit is pink strawberries.

Redressing Curvy Barbie

I have been purchasing and trying clothes on my Curvy Barbie.

These first two items - stone washed jeans and silver top - were individual Barbie items.

It turns out the jeans are a stiff plasticy material with no give, whatsoever. They do not fit her, at all. They feel weird, too.

The top is a tight fit, but does fit. It will probably look better on other dolls, though.

What did fit her well, was the Camp Barbie outfit.

The pants and top are stretchy, and even the boots fit her feet.

The pink vest is a little small. but looks OK.

It is good to know that while it is hit and miss, there are Barbie clothes that fit her.
