Today I am going off topic. I am feeling nostalgic for the watches I used to wear in order to tell time, since nowadays I just check my cell phone.
My first watch was a plain Timex, a lot like the one in the photo below. I go it in second or third grade and it lasted until I got to high school.
In high school I got a Swatch Watch, just like the one below. I loved it. I even got a Swatch Watch guard to wear over it, for protection, the next Christmas.
When my Swatch eventually broke, around 1990, I wore my brothers for a while, but I can't find a photo of his online.
Then in 1993, I was given this awesome Superman watch by Fossil. I wore it for quite a while, replaced the band at least once, but it really needs a new crystal and a tune up.
Then I bought this Superman watch, but the pin that holds the strap snapped.
I then went through a Disney Store cast member watch that I only wore for work,
two identical marcasite watch necklaces (they were very convenient, but broke easily), and a Tweety Bird watch.
Next up was this pretty, green, Avon cuff style watch. It always made me feel pretty when I wore it.
In 2002 I moved to Maryland and bought a new watch to commemorate it, Eeyore!
And then a few years later, I got this dressy watch (it came with a matching bracelet and earrings). Unfortunately, I got what I paid for it, cheap, and it only worked for a short time.
Now, if I want to wear a watch, it is Eeyore.
Do any of my readers still use a watch.
I do, but I'm /old/. Been wearing one casio digital watch, after another for several decades now - they usually last me 6 or 7 years.
ReplyDeleteLOL. My brother gave me his Swatch, way back then, since he liked his digital watches better, too.
