Tokyo Ramen Street

On Friday, we wanted Ramen for dinner, so we went to Tokyo Ramen Street, of course.

Tokyo Ramen Street is located at Tokyo Station, in the section called First Avenue Tokyo Station. There are 8 ramen restaurants grouped together. Choosing just one restaurant was tough, but we settled on Kani-Senmon Keisuki Kita no Sho.

The bowls were in the shape of Hokkaido, and the ramen were, coincidentally enough, Hokkaido style. The ramen was tasty and filling, but not too much. Unlike most ramen I've had before, I was actually able to finish this bowl.

Next time we will have to try one of the other restaurants. There was even one that had about 50 people in line for it. (Yeah, not going to wait in that line for Ramen.)

Afterwards, we explored First Avenue Tokyo Station and took a trip outside to see the station in all its glory.

Wow.

The station is a beautiful western style building, and I'm glad I finally got to see it up close.

We then, exhausted, headed home on the train.

Abbey Bominable

Abbey Bominable, from Monster High, has joined the household.

She has a pile of Summer reading that she needs to start on right away.

She is hoping that A Breath of Snow and Ashes will be a cool read.

The March Hare Joins Us

I was bored yesterday and finally unboxed the Mini-Pullip that I was saving for just such a day.

She is the March Hare. Getting her out of her packaging was quite an ordeal and I never want to do it again. Worst part was getting the plastic wrap off of her hair. It was taped too tight to cut without accidentally giving her a haircut, so I ended up sliding the taped part over her curls, one by one. Now her curls are frizzy and all over the place. Sigh.

Her face is so cute.

Here she is with a full size Pullip. Quite the difference in height.

April Showers

Random doll of the day: Precious Moments, Hi- Babies April.

With my name being April, it makes sense that people would gift me items that are named April - so this little rain coated girl joined my collection back in the late 80s or early 90s. (It seems that doll of the months tend to outfit most April's for rain. I wonder why? ;))

Jane West

Random doll of the day: Jane West from Marx's Best of the West toy line.

Jane is about 12 inches tall, is made of hard plastic/vinyl, and is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Once upon a time she also had plug in hands, but I lost those a long time ago. notice, that she proudly wears jeans (even if she did come with a purse and compact) and carries a rifle.

My brother and I were the proud owners of 5 Best of the West dolls/action figures and 3 horses. Sadly, due to our abuse, only Jane is still around. I love that this line appealed to both boys and girls and encouraged them to play together.

Maudlynne in the Fresh Air

Maudlynne was told to go outside and get some fresh air. Reluctantly, she changed into play clothes and trudged to the nearby Japanese rock garden.
