Gene in "The Spirit of Truth"

Joan of Arc was killed on May 30, 1431. In honor of her death day, I present to you: Gene in "The Spirit of Truth".

The outfit was released in 2000 for Gene's 5th anniversary. 

It consists of a chain mail body-suit, gauntlets, boots, a kilt, breastplate, sword, and shield. It also come with hoop earrings that I did not put on.

This is a lovely costume.

Mary Engelbreit Paper Dolls

I am a fan of Mary Engelbreit's art. As such, I was a subscriber to her magazine for a few years, until it was discontinued. In many issues of the magazine, Mary included paper dolls for her readers to enjoy. Here are a few of them.

Georgia - she has outfits for Cinco de Mayo and May Day.

Josephine - with outfits for Easter and baking.

Ann Estelle - a beach outfit and a flower girl dress.

Tommy - with PJs and an outfit to play in the snow (and lots of Christmas accessories).

Audrey Ann - with her Baseball/Softball outfit and everything she needs for a day at the beach

Mikayla - with two outfits for the Winter holidays.

I had others, but gave them away as presents. Which are your favorites? I think mine is Georgia. She even has little limes and avocados to make guacamole.

Wonder Women

I unboxed a Wonder Woman from my collection and decided to photograph all the Wonder Woman dolls in my collection (not counting the little action figures).

Wonder Woman dolls: Mattel - DC Wonder Woman - Diana Prince & Hidden Sword (2017); Mattel - Superman VS Batman: Dawn of Justice - Wonder Woman (2016); Tonner - Diana Prince - Princess of Paradise (redressed, 2014); Mattel - Wonder Woman Collector's Edition (1999); and Mattel - DC Superhero Girls - Wonder Woman (2016).

 

Diana Prince & Hidden Sword was the doll I unboxed today.

She is from the 2017 Wonder Woman movie.

Here she is with the doll from the 2016 Superman VS Batman: Dawn of Justice movie.

This Wonder Woman by Tonner shows off how she reflects bullets with her gauntlets.

This 1999 Wonder Woman was actually my second Wonder Woman doll, I used to have an 8" Mego Wonder Woman, but sold her with my other Mego Superheroes and villains in the early 2000s. 

I look forward to being able to add a Wonder Woman from the Wonder Woman: 1984 movie once it comes out.

May the 4th be with You

Today is May 4th, known among Star Wars fans as "May the Fourth", like "May the Force be with you", from the Star Wars series. It has become the unofficial day to celebrate all things Star Wars related.

So, seeing that I needed to add some excitement and joy to my life today, the quarantine/social distancing/ Covid 19 situation has had me feeling a bit down, I decided to open up my two Forces of Destiny action figures/dolls. The dolls were released around 2017 and are by Hasbro.

 Up first is Leia Organa and R2-D2.

 For this set, Leia is dressed in the costume she wore on Hoth during episode 5 - The Empire Strikes Back. (Many fans consider this the best of the Star Wars movies.)

 The other doll is Rey of Jakku. Rey is one of the main characters from the final trilogy: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens, Episode 8 - The Last Jedi, and Episode 9 - The Rise of Skywalker (which I haven't seen yet, so no spoilers, please).
