Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum

We spent a lovely summer day at the Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum.

We were pleased at how relatively close the park is to us. We took the train to Musashi-Koganei and then a short bus ride to the Koganei-Koen Nishi Guchi stop. After that, it was just a few minutes of walking to the Museum.

The museum has original buildings from the Edo period and after that have been moved there from all over Tokyo. Most of them can be entered, as long as you remove your shoes.

We had lunch at the Musashino Sabo Cafe inside the Lalande House. I was totally impressed with the presentation. 

The ice tea glass is filled with chunks of frozen ice tea instead of plain ice. Too neat.

Our entrees were served in china dishes and on silver trays. Classy. I felt like a princess.

At some of the homes, volunteers manned the cooking fires.

Re-Ment in Wonderland

Office supplies? They got that.

This is a cute Alice in Wonderland themed bottle of paper clips. On it's front, it says, "Drink Me".

It came with an Alice charm

and 5 paper clips: Alice, the White Rabbit, to drink me drops, and a key.

Tropical Beauties

More random dolls that are currently in storage:

These are two tourist dolls from my collection. The one on the left is a lovely lady from Rio De Janeiro, the one on the right is from the Bahamas (if I remember correctly). My father gave the Rio doll to me around 3rd grade, and my parents gave the Bahamas doll to me in 11th or 12th grade. While beautiful, some of Rio's skin paint is flaking and she has lost one earring.

A Little Bit of Ireland

Random Doll of the Day: Colleen, a doll from Ireland that I received from my grand parents when I was 5 years old.

She was a Christmas present, and my first International doll. She got played with a little, but only very gently, since I thought she was too pretty to get dirty or messy.

Dolls Have to Live Somewhere

Recently I have been rearranging dolls in the "Doll Room", ie: the room where the majority of my dolls live. (This of course, doesn't apply to the dolls in storage in the US, the dolls in the office, the dolls in the bedroom, and the dolls in the living room. LOL)

Animals in Cups

I am always finding something cute or interesting in the capsule stations. This weeks cuteness is "Animals in Cups", cute little kittens in tea cups.
